Energy Adviser Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan said on Saturday that the present government took the power to fulfill the responsibilities, not to practice power.
He made the statement while addressing a seminar titled “The Role of Smart Grid in the Future Power System” at Dhaka International University (DIU). Later, he inaugurated country’s first energy storage system (ESS) solar energy lab.
“We came to the government at request of students to fulfill the responsibilities, not to exercise power,” the Adviser said, adding that they found the responsibility at the cost of more than a thousand fresh lives and 30000 injured people.
He said, “At that time various syndicates including bureaucrats turned the people of the country into puppets. We have come to hand over the country to the people.”
The energy advisor said, “The interim government has not taken responsibility by relying on any muscle power or business syndicate.”
He said the Huawei-CER lab was funded by Huawei. One of the objectives of this initiative is capacity building and human resource development in the solar energy sector. Huawei, CER and UIU will jointly develop the training curriculum needed to meet the sector's goals. The course will cover research and technological development on renewable energy.
