Md. Touhid Hossain, the interim government's foreign affairs advisor, announced that the government will assist BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia and her accompanying delegation with their visa application for a visit to the United Kingdom, given her status as a former Prime Minister.
During a press briefing at the Foreign Ministry on Wednesday, the foreign affairs advisor made this statement.
When asked about the UN investigation team's report on the casualties from the July-August movement, the advisor replied that the UN has indicated it will need an additional week to finalize the report.
Md. Touhid Hossain stated that BNP Chairperson Begum Khaleda Zia will travel to the United Kingdom on November 7.
In response to questions about the measures the Foreign Ministry is taking and whether they will ensure her benefits during the trip as a former Prime Minister, he said, "Yes, she will be traveling for medical treatment. Since she is going as a former Prime Minister, we will ensure that she and her team receive assistance with the visa. It's our responsibility."
He added, "Once she arrives there, I don't foresee any issues. She has her own support network there, and our mission will also be present. We will certainly fulfill all necessary protocols."
