The Press Secretary of the Interim Government's Chief Adviser, Dr. Muhammad Yunus, Shafiqul Alam, has reported that no decision has been made regarding the resignation of President Mohammed Shahabuddin.
He made this announcement during a press briefing with journalists at the State Guest House Jamuna on Wednesday at around 12:15 PM.
Press Secretary Shafiqul Alam remarked, “As of now, we can say that no decision has been made regarding this issue. If there are any developments concerning the President's resignation or other issues, you will be notified.”
There has been a significant public response to a statement made by President Mohammed Shahabuddin regarding whether Sheikh Hasina has resigned from her position as Prime Minister.
In light of this, leaders and activists from several organizations gathered in front of Bangabhaban yesterday afternoon, demanding the President's resignation.
Additionally, protests by the Anti-Discrimination Student Movement also took place at the Central Shaheed Minar on the same day.
In response to the situation, Law Adviser Asif Nazrul, Information Adviser Nahid Islam, and Inspector General of Police Md. Moynul Islam met with Chief Justice Syed Refaat Ahmed.
RAB DG AKM Shahidur Rahman and DMP Commissioner Md. Mainul Hasan were also present at the meeting.
