The students prtesters marched towards Bangabhaban demanding President Md. Sahabuddin's resignation, ban on Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) and formation of a revolutionary government.
A group of students marched towards Bangabhaban after a short rally at Shahbagh in the capital under the banner of Inquilab Manch, Anti-Fascist Student-Janta Manch and 36 July Manch On Tuesday afternoon around 4:30 pm.
At that time, they protested with slogans such as 'Chhatra League na Jongi League – Jongi League Jongi League', 'Stop act like civil society, prosecute the murderers'.
Masudur Rahman, member secretary of Inkilab Manch, in a short rally at Shahbagh said,”BCL has tried to put the murderer Hasina on comfort-land by stealing votes in the last three elections. The teachers of all universities, including Dhaka University, were defamed. The young talented students were allowed to live in a worse place than the jail by creating a culture like a common room named ‘Gonoroom.’ They used to eat unfairly in every canteen-shop in the hall. The verdict of Biswajit's murder has not been delivered yet. Finally on July 15, the organized gangs attacked the students. Even, they attacked the women students. They attacked Shahidullah Hall students with weapons. When everyone is saying Chhatra League is a terrorist organization, why is it not being banned?”
Addressing the interim government, he said, “Why is Chhatra League not being banned when Legal Advisor Asif Nazrul called it a terrorist organization. If notification is not issued banning Chhatra League, we will form non-stop movement.”
