Ex-MP Barrister Suman arrested

Police have arrested former member of the parliament (MP) Barrister Sayedul Haque Suman in murder cases filed over killing students during July revolution, reports The Business Standard.

He has murder cases filed against him at both Mirpur Model and Adabor police stations. Suman was arrested in a raid by Mirpur Model Police Station during early hours on Tuesday, said Duty Officer Ohid from Mirpur Model Police Station.

Before his arrest, at 1:21 am, Barrister Suman wrote on his verified Facebook, “I am going with the police. See you in court. Pray for me, everyone.”

Although a member of the central committee of Jubo League, Suman was elected as an independent candidate from Habiganj in the 2024 national elections.
