Chief Adviser Dr Muhammad Yunus will hold the fourth round of dialogue with political parties on country’s reformation and election issues, but once again, the Jatiya Party has not been invited, reports Dhaka Tribune.
The fourth round of the dialogue kicked off at the State Guest House Jamuna at 3pm on Saturday, said the advisor's Deputy Press Secretary Mohammad Abul Kalam Azad Majumder.
The third round of dialogue between the interim government and political parties took place on October 5, during which the party was also excluded.
According to multiple government sources, Jatiya Party’s exclusion this time stems from objections raised by student leaders involved in the July-August uprising.
Recently, the party declared coordinators Sarjis Alam and Hasnat Abdullah as unwelcome in Rangpur, which is thought to have influenced the decision. Party leaders had been expecting an invitation but were ultimately left out.
The interim government has indicated that parties not included in this round will be invited to future discussions.
Besides state reforms, other issues such as the rising prices of essential goods will be on the agenda.
