According to sources from the Prime Minister’s Office and the Public Service Commission (PSC), the government has prepared a list to fill approximately 3,500 positions through the 47th Bangladesh Civil Service (BCS) examination, reports Daily Star.
This recruitment notice is set to be the largest in nearly a decade.
Previously, in 2013, the 33rd BCS appointed a total of 8,529 candidates across various cadres, including 6,360 in the health cadre.
Similar to the last five BCS exams, the announcement for the 47th BCS is expected in November. Despite some political instability in the country in August, the Bangladesh Public Service Commission (PSC) is on track to release the BCS notice on time.
According to the report, the government plans to recruit a total of 3,478 officials across 25 cadres, with the health cadre anticipated to have the highest number of vacancies. This includes a possible 1,181 assistant surgeons.
Other positions include 938 in education, 200 in administration, 100 in police, 50 in customs, 50 in Ansar, 50 in taxation, and 951 in various other cadres, including foreign affairs, forest, rail, agriculture, and fisheries.
The number of non-cadre positions for the 47th BCS has not yet been confirmed.
