Ziaur Rahman Foundation (ZRF) Overseas Committee Chief Advisor and noted physician Dr. Zubaida Rahman urged the members of the foundation to set new examples by extending their support for the well-being of the distressed humanity, reports BSS.
She made this call while speaking virtually from London at a discussion organized by ZRF in the capital's Institution of Engineers, Bangladesh (IEB) auditorium marking the silver jubilee celebration of the foundation on Friday.
BNP Acting Chairman and ZRF President Tarique Rahman chaired the discussion while BNP Standing Committee Member and former Minister Dr. Abdul Moyeen Khan spoke as the chief guest.
ZRF Executive Director and BNP Chairperson's Advisory Council Member Dr. Farhad Halim Donar gave an overview of the organization.
Extending heartiest greetings to all members of ZRF, Zubaida Rahman said the foundation has implemented numerous philanthropic projects successfully during the past 25 years.
Mentioning that ZRF is moving ahead with the philosophy of 'People for People’, she highlighted many philanthropic works of the foundation including reaching oxygen to coronavirus affected patients and standing by flood affected people.
Not only providing service to people, but this organization has participated in the tree plantation programme to maintain ecological balance.
Sometimes they distributed ducks, hens and goats among the poor families, she said adding that ZRF took seed scheme aimed at distribution of seeds among the farmers and water scheme to ensure drinking water in different areas.
She said virtual science fair is one of the multifaceted projects of ZRF in search of future scientists. By organizing this fair, she said this organization encourages children and juveniles to become proficient in science.
