Two months earlier, the interim government ordered Mohammad Javed Patwari, who was contractually appointed as ambassador to Saudi Arabia, to return home.
He is reported to have gone to the USA without returning the country.
However, before carrying his duty as an ambassador he was he was working as Inspector General of Police (IGP).
According to the diplomatic sources in Dhaka and Riyadh, the former IGP Mohammad Javed Patwari left the ambassador’s duties and left Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia, on August 28.
His final destination is yet to be confirmed. However, he told his close relatives in Riyadh that he was going to the United States via Dubai.
The interim government took over on August 8. Then on August 14, the appointment of six ambassadors including Javed Patwari was canceled and they were ordered to return home.
He did not return to the country even after issuing this order for almost two months.
Sheikh Hasina led ousted government appointed Javed Patwari as ambassador to Saudi Arabia on April 13, 2020 on a three-year contract. On February 3, 2024, he was reappointed for the same post for one and a half year contract.
