Bangladesh is likely to witness continuous precipitation for the next three days as the monsoon is quite active over the country, reports Daily Sun.
Monowar Hossain, a meteorologist at the Bangladesh Meteorological Department (BMD), told the media that heavy (44-88mm per day) to very heavy rainfall (89mm and above per day) is likely to occur at places over Dhaka, Rajshahi, Rangpur, Mymensingh, Sylhet, Barishal, Khulna, and Chattogram divisions during the next 72 hours commencing at 4 pm today.
Due to heavy rainfall, landslides may occur at places over the hilly regions of Chattogram and Sylhet divisions, he said.
“A monsoon trough runs through Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, the centre of the low to Assam across central part of Bangladesh. The monsoon is active over Bangladesh and strong over the north Bay,” said the meteorologist.
