Health and Family Welfare Minister Dr. Samanta Lal Sen has underscored the need to enhance doctors' quality to ensure quality treatment to patients across the country, reports Daily Sun.
“I don’t support increasing the number of medical colleges, rather I prefer improving the standard and quality of the colleges so that the students can get quality education,” he said on Wednesday.
While talking to reporters after a sudden visit to Sikder Women's Medical College and Hospital in Dhaka this noon, the health minister said he is working tirelessly so that the students of the medical colleges can grow up with proper education from their first year to fifth year.
During the visit, he inspected every corner of the hospital and talked to the relevant authorities asking them to take some necessary measures to improve the overall arrangement of the hospital.
He also asked the authorities of the hospital to maintain the due diagnosis procedure for the sake of hassle-free treatment.
Noticing infrastructural mismanagement at the hospital, the health minister instructed the hospital authorities to resolve the issues within the next seven months.
