Former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed will not be given any more time to appear before the Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) to face grilling in connection with his indulgence in corruption.
ACC lawyer Khurshid Alam said this while talking to journalists on the Supreme Court premises in Dhaka on Thursday, Daily Sun reports.
Earlier on 28 May, ACC summoned Benazir Ahmed and his family members to appear before its Segunbagicha office on 6 June and 9 June respectively to quiz them for their indulgence in corruption.
On 5 June, Benazir Ahmed, through his lawyer, submitted an application to the ACC seeking a 15-day extension.
Following the prayer, the ACC then fixed 23 June for questioning the former IGP at the commission office regarding his alleged accumulation of illegal wealth.
