Government and private offices, banks, financial institutions, and courts resumed operations with a thin presence of staff on Wednesday after a three-day vacation for Eid-ul-Azha, UNB reports.
The officials and employees returning to work were seen busy exchanging Eid greetings.
However, a festive mood is still prevailing as a big portion of holidaymakers has yet to return to the capital.
A limited number of transports and people were seen on roads compared to usual working days. Many shops were found shut.
The Eid holidays started on Sunday and continued till Tuesday, while government officers and employees enjoyed their vacation from Friday.
Offices resumed on Wednesday following new timing as the government on 3 June rearranged the office timing from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm for government, semi-government, autonomous, and semi-autonomous institutions of the country.
The previous office-hour from 9:00 am to 4:00 pm was made effective from 15 November 2022 in order to save power and energy changing the usual office time from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm.
