At least four people, including two of a family, were killed in separate road accidents in Kalihati and Mirzapur upazilas of Tangail on Friday, reports Daily Sun.
Elenga highway police outpost in-charge Mir Sajedur Rahman said a Mymensingh-bound car and a cattle-laden truck bound for Tangail collided in the Bagutia area of Kalihati.
Two passengers of the car died on the spot and three others got injured, he said.
The injured were sent to Tangail General Hospital where one of them died while undergoing treatment there, the police official added.
The deceased were identified as Abdullah Al Akkhor, 6, his maternal grandmother Hosne Ara, 68, and the car’s driver Abul Hossain. Akkhor was the son of Abdullah Al Mamun, a cultural officer of Jamalpur Sadar upazila.
In another incident, a motorcyclist, Nuruzzaman Huda, died as his vehicle hit a traffic island at Gorai in Mirzapur.
Huda was heading to his ancestral home in Kurigram from Dhaka.
According to the police, the motorbike hit the island as the biker lost control of his vehicle and he died on the spot.
