Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina met with senior members of India's Congress Party on Monday afternoon.
The meeting took place at the ITC Maurya Hotel, where Sheikh Hasina is staying during her official visit to New Delhi, Daily Sun reported.
The delegation from the Indian Congress Party included Sonia Gandhi, a Member of the Rajya Sabha and Chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, her son Rahul Gandhi, the Leader of the Opposition in the Lok Sabha, and her daughter Priyanka Gandhi, General Secretary of the Indian National Congress Party.
The discussions between Prime Minister Hasina and the Gandhi family are seen as a reinforcement of the historical ties and political camaraderie between Bangladesh and India.
Further details of the discussions were not disclosed, but it is expected that a range of issues concerning bilateral cooperation and regional stability were on the agenda.
