Indian Union Cabinet Minister and former External Affairs Minister Subrahmanyam Jaishankar on Monday paid a courtesy call on Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina at her Place of Residence in New delhi.
"Bangladesh Premier Sheikh Hasina and Jaishankar discussed in detail about the bilateral relations between the two friendly countries," Foreign Ministry briefed the newsmen after the meeting.
They expressed their desire to elevate the relations further in the days to come, it said.
The Bangladesh premier congratulated Jaishankar for becoming an Indian minister and invited him to visit Dhaka.
The Indian minister said the relations between the two countries have reached a new height.
"We, the two countries are working to elevate and spread the relations further," the briefing quoted Jaishankar as saying.
Senior Foreign Secretary Masud Bin Momen and PM's Press Secretary M Nayeemul Islam Khan were present during the briefing.
