Rana Dasgupta, general secretary of Bangladesh Hindu Buddhist Christian Oikya Parishad, has urged Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina to visit her electoral area Gopalganj to get a firsthand report on how former Inspector General of Police (IGP) Benazir Ahmed grabbed the land of minority communities.
He made the call while talking to reporters after visiting the Savanna Eco Resort and Natural Park in Gopalganj, owned by Benazir Ahmed and his family members, on Friday evening, Daily Sun reported.
The economic crisis has smashed the daily lives of local people from minority communities, as their lands were forcibly grabbed by Benazir Ahmed, alleged Rana Dasgupta.
“Honorable prime minister, this issue concerns your own constituency. Kindly, visit and witness firsthand how Benazir Ahmed grabbed the lands of the minority communities forcibly. I urge you (PM) to take steps for returning the lands to the victims,” he said.
