A case has been filed against more than 350 Awami League leaders and activists in connection with the attack and vandalism of motor vehicle of BNP Vice Chairman Abdullah Al Noman's car in Khagrachhari, reports UNB.
Ratan Kumar Tripura, Assistant Legal Affairs Secretary of the district BNP, filed the case at the Khagrachari Chief Judicial Magistrate Court on Sunday.
The case was filed mentioning names of 103 accused including KM Ismail Hossain, general secretary of district Jubo League and 250 unnamed ones.
Advocate Bedarul Islam confirmed the development and said the court has taken the case into cognisance and issued an order to the Officer-in-Charge of Khagrachhari Sadar Police Station, to initiate legal actions accordingly.
However, Md. Arifur Rahman, the Officer-in-Charge of Sadar Police Station, said that he has not received any official instruction in this regard as of yet.
A clash erupted between activists of the Awami League and BNP on May 26 in the town when the car of BNP’s Abdullah Al Noman was vandalized. Several activists from both sides sustained injuries during the clash.
