BNP secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir alleged that the government is playing arrest with the leaders and activists of BNP and its associate organisations as it has failed to run the country.
A media statement signed by BNP assistant office secretary Munir Hossain reads the message on Sunday.
Terming the current government illegal, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir protested the arrest of Noakhali BNP’s relief affairs secretary Abdur Rahman on Sunday morning from the capital.
He said the government has turned the whole country into a jail through mass arrests, attacks, filing false cases, killings and forced disappearance of the BNP leaders and activists and its associate organisations.
The senior leader of the party said the arrest of BNP men is turned massive. It has turned into a routine job for the government. The arrest of Noakhali BNP’s relief affairs secretary Abdur Rahman is part of this routine work.
Protesting and castigating the arrest of Abdur Rahman, Mirza Fakhrul called upon the government to withdraw the false case and release him immediately without condition.
