Agriculture Minister Dr Abdur Razzak said the defeat of the Awami League mayoral candidate in the Gazipur city corporation poll proves that a free, fair and neutral election is held under Sheikh Hasina’s Awami League government.
He said this while addressing the triennial council of Tangail Jubo League as the chief guest at Tangail Shaheed Smrity Pouro Udyan on Saturday.
Central Jubo League Chairman Sheikh Fazle Shams Parash inaugurated the council.
Tangail Jubo League president Rezaur Rahman Chanchal presided over the council while Education Minister Dr Dipu Mon Central Jubo League general secretary Mainul Hossain Khan Nikhil, Presidium Member Mamunur Rashid Mamun, Mujibur Rahman Chowdhury Nixon, local lawmakers, and leaders of central and local Awami League also addressed the council.
The Agriculture Minister said the next parliament election will be held in due time and will be held free and fair.
