BNP on Saturday announced countrywide rally on May 19, 20, 26 and 27 to press home their 10-point demand, including holding the next polls under a non-party neutral government and free party chairperson Khaleda Zia without any condition.
Party’s secretary general Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir announced the programmes at Nayapaltan in the capital on Saturday.
The rally was arranged to protest against the arrest and harassment of party leaders and activists, reports UNB.
Mirza Fakhrul said the programme will be observed in Dhaka Metropolitan North, 28 organizational districts and metropolitan cities on May 19, in Dhaka Metropolitan South, 21 organizational districts and metropolitan cities on May 20.
Besides, BNP and like-minded parties will observe the programme in Dhaka Metropolitan North, 19 organizational districts and metropolitan cities on May 26 and Dhaka Metropolitan South and 15 organizational districts on May 27, he added.
