Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury said Dr M A Wazed Miah has played an important role in the development of Bangladesh as a renowned scientist.
The speaker made the remarks while addressing a discussion and dua mahfil arranged by the Rangpur district administration marking the fourteenth death anniversary of the eminent nuclear scientist with international repute and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's husband Dr M A Wazed Miah on Tuesday.
She also called upon the young generation to follow the life and philosophy of Dr M A Wazed Miah.
Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury addressed the function as the chief guest through a virtual platform.
She said Dr M A Wazed Miah had been evaluated at the national and international levels for his merit.
Leaders of Pirganj Upazila Awami League were present in the discussion.
