Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in an anti-crime drive detained an alleged drug peddler with 450 grams of heroin from a village in the district on Monday night, reports BSS.
The detainee was identified as Nurul Islam, 45, son of Hossen Ali of Matikata village under Godagari Upazila in the district, said the RAB sources on Tuesday morning.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid at C&B crossing area of the village at around 11.30 pm and nabbed him. The operation team recovered the heroin from his possession.
The person along with the seized goods was handed over to police after recording a case with Godagari Model Police Station in this connection.
