Two passengers were dead and two others were injured in a head-on collision between a CNG-run autorickshaw and a pickup van carrying fish at Kandulia area of Netrokona Sadar upazila at 9:30 am on Monday, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Ramesh Sarkar of Gobindapur area of Sadar upazila, and Aradhan Das of Manas village in Barhatta upazila. The injured were identified as Jasmine and Mukta of Thakurakona village, Netrokona Model Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Md Lutfur Haque confirmed.
One person died on the spot and the other died at the hospital. Two others were seriously injured, he said.
While the pick-up van driver was arrested, the three-wheeler driver was on the run, he added.
Legal action is in process in this regard, said the OC.
