President Xi Jinping sent a congratulatory letter to Muhammad Shahabuddin Chuppu on his assuming office as President of Bangladesh, according to Chinese Embassy in Dhaka, reports Daily Sun.
On behalf of the Government of People’s Republic of China and its people as well as in his own name, Xi Jinping conveys his heartfelt congratulations and best wishes to President Shahabuddin Chuppu.
Xi Jinping noted that China and Bangladesh are traditionally friendly neighbors. Since the establishment of diplomatic relations, the two countries have always respected each other, treated each other as equals, and supported each other on issues concerning each other’s core interests, which has set an example of friendly coexistence and win-win cooperation between countries.
Xi Jinping said that he attaches great importance to the development of China-Bangladesh relations, and stand ready to work with President Shahabuddin Chuppu, to carry forward the traditional friendship between the two countries, jointly build “Belt and Road Initiative” with high quality and keep promoting the China-Bangladesh Strategic Partnership forward to better benefit the two peoples.
Xi Jinping expressed his wishes for prosperity to the country and happiness to the people of Bangladesh within the letter.
