Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina expressed profound shock and sorrow at the death of Ekushey-Padak-winning actor Masum Aziz.
In a condolence message on Monday, the Prime Minister said, "The artiste will be remembered through his acting."
She also prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed deep sympathy to the bereaved family.
Eminent actor Masum Aziz passed away at a private hospital in the capital on Monday.
He had been put on life support at the hospital on Thursday last.
Aziz has earned fame through acting on stage, in television dramas and in cinemas. He joined the group theatre while studying at university.
Masum Aziz has been suffering from heart-related ailments for a long time.
In 1985, he debuted in TV drama. Masum has played in more than four hundred dramas and notable films since 1985.
The actor was born in 1952 in Pabna.
