Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) in an anti-crime drive arrested an alleged woman drug peddler with 2.75 kilograms of heroin from a frontier village in Chapainawabganj district on Friday night, reports BSS.
The arrested female was identified as Morjina Khatun, 25, wife of Abdus Samad of Kodalkati village under Chapainawabganj Sadar upazila.
On a tip-off, a team of the elite force conducted a raid in the house of the arrested woman at around 8:30 pm and seized the huge contraband drug item after searching the house.
The team also arrested the woman but her husband managed to flee sensing the presence of RAB, the RAB sources added.
The arrested person along with the seized contraband goods was handed over to the police on Saturday morning.
A case was recorded with Chapainawabganj Sadar Police Station in this connection.
