Four people in a rickshaw van were killed as a bus rammed them in front of Farishta Restaurant on the Dhaka-Mymensingh Highway in Telipara of Gazipur on Saturday morning.
Three of the deceased were identified as rickshaw-van driver Borhan, fish trader Yunus, and pedestrian Sohrab.
Gazipur Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (Traffic North) Ahsanul Haque said a Bashumati Paribahan bus crushed a rickshaw van from behind on the road around 8 am, leaving four people in the van dead on the spot.
“The killer bus was seized and dumped, but the driver fled the scene,” he said.
