At least four people were killed and some others injured in a head-on collision between a passenger bus and a battery-run auto-rickshaw near Kanchpur Bridge on the Dhaka-Chattogram highway in Narayanganj on Sunday morning.
Three of the deceased were identified as Nur Uddin, 45, son of Shamsuddin of the Kanchpur area, auto-rickshaw driver Hanif, and passenger Mamun, 30.
Kanchpur Highway Police Station Officer-in-Charge Nabir Hossain said the battery-run auto-rickshaw collided with a Dhaka-bound passenger bus as the auto-rickshaw was driving on the wrong side around 9 am leaving one dead on the spot and injured others.
The injured were rushed to a local hospital and Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) where three injured succumbed to their injuries.
DMCH police camp in-charge Md Bacchu Mia confirmed the matter.
