An investigation has been launched by the airport’s security, Dhaka Metropolitan Police, APBN and Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) after dollars and valuable items from SAFF women’s went missing.
Two members of the SAFF women’s team Krishna Rani Sarkar and Shamsunnahar (Sr) reported that dollars along with other possesions were missing from their luggage.
It was reported that Krishna’s lock was broken on her luggage and money were missing. Money was also taken from Shamsunnahar’s luggage along with some valuable items.
Mohammad Morshed Alam, deputy commissioner (Uttara Crime Division) of Dhaka Metropolitan Police said that they are still not aware of when the robbery took place but they are going through CCTV footages from the airport.
Additional SP Mohammad Ziaul Haque of Airport Armed Police (AAP) said that they were self-motivated to find out who committed the crime after they got the information.
Md Akramul hossain Deputy Commissioner of Police (DB-North Division), Dhaka Metropolitan Police, Dhaka said has already started working.
