Police arrested a youth on charge of hurting religious sentiment of Hindu community in a Facebook post in the Kushtia district on Friday.
The arrestee is Nayebur Rahman, 24, son of Lutfor Rahman of Bahalbaria village under Mirpur upazila in the district.
Md Khairul Alam, district superintendent of police said this at a press conference at the Police Lines in the afternoon.
The SP informed that the youth, a private jobholder in Dhaka, uploaded a status hurting religious sentiment of the country’s minority belonging to Hindu community with a view to creating a communal instability and hostility on September 14.
The youth was arrested from his father-in-law’s house in Mohishakhola village under the same upazila, he added.
