A youth was stabbed to death by an adolescent gang allegedly over a trivial matter in Khulna town on Friday morning.
The deceased was identified as Yeasin Arafat, 18, a fish trader of Sandhabazar in the town.
Locals and police said there had been a loggerhead between the victim and the gang over borrow of Tk 100.
Centering the matter, a group of adolescents numbering 7-8 came to the South end of Kashem Road in the town and hit him with brick around 11 am. Later, they stabbed him with knives leaving him critically injured.
He was rushed to Khulna Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment, said Abul Hannan, sub-inspector of Nirala Police Outpost.
“We are trying to unearth the reason for the murder and drive going on to nab the killers,” he added.
