Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained a man with 58 gold bars weighting about 10 kg from the frontier of Nastipur village in Chuadanga on Thursday.
The detainee was identified as Rokibul Islam, 35, son of Abdul Hye of Nastipur.
Chuadanga-6 BGB director Lt. Col. Shah Md Ishtiaq said acting on a tip-off BGB members detained Rokibul Islam around 11 am. They also seized 58 gold bars from his possession.
Rokibul kept the gold bars worth Tk 6.6 crore under the seat of his motorcycle, he added.
The detainee was handed over to Darshana Police Station.
