BNP Standing Committee member Mirza Abbas on Monday said they (BNP) will also not spare anyone if they are attacked.
“We won’t spare anyone if anyone fires at us during the movement. We are ready to sacrifice our lives. We will observe the situation and then will take measures accordingly.”
He came up with the assertion while addressing a protest rally in the capital’s Shegunbagichha organised by Ramna and Shahbagh unit BNP.
The rally was held protesting the hikes in fuel oil, daily commodities, transport fares and the killing of party leaders and activists in Bhola and Narayanganj by the police.
Mirza Abbas said, “We used to hold our programme at Paltan and then it has been shifted to Muktangon. Our programme has also been shut there. Then we start our programmes in front of the Jatiya Press Club. Police obstructed our programmes there also. Now, we will run our movement to the streets and the government won’t be able to stop us anymore.”
He also said BNP’s protest has started to oust the Awami League government and it will not end until the government quit.
Dhaka South BNP convener Abdus Salam, its member secretary Rafiqul Alam Majnu, Dhaka North BNP convener Amanullah Aman, BNP Volunteer Affairs Secretary Mir Sarafat Ali Sapu, Gazipur district BNP convener Fazlul Haque Milan, among others, spoke the rally.
