Three people, including a newborn, were killed when a truck hit a microbus at Rangpur-Dinajpur Highway in Taraganj upazilla in Rangpur on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Borat, 30, son of Nasir Uddin of Nilphamari, Rofikul Islam, 40, son of Jahanur Islam and Seven day old newborn.
Accident occurred when a bus hit a microbus near Saleyasha Bazar, a few yards west of Kharuvaj Bridge in the Taraganj upazila around 5:30 am Sunday. At that moment, seven people of the same family in the microbus were injured. They were admitted to different wards of Rangpur Medical College Hospital. Three of them, including a seven-day-old newborn, died there.
Sheikh Mohammad Mahbub Morshed, Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Taraganj Highway Police said the accident happened around 5:30 am near Saleyasha Bazar. When the injured were taken to the hospital, three people including a child died there.
