Begum Rowshan Ershad, leader of the opposition in the Jatiya Sangsad and convener of the 10th National Conference of the Jatiya Party, said, “By the grace of God, I am completely healthy and not under any severe pressure. We need to investigate why I am being portrayed as an unhealthy individual and what the real motive is.”
She said these in a statement on Saturday in protest against the 'false information' published in various media in the past few days.
Rowshan Ershad said, “Misinformation was spread the moment I recovered and was physically and mentally ready to participate in Parliament proceedings. Now the question is the purpose behind this misdirection.”
“I called the 10th National Conference citing the special need as per the rules mentioned in sub-section 1 of the Constitution 20. The poor condition of the Jatiya Party in the last three years and the cries of numerous competent leaders and activists ached me, the call of the 10th National Conference is to take the title of Pallibandhu and its ideals forward and save the party by the infinite mercy of Allah and the prayers of millions of leaders and activists”, she added.
"All members of the National Party are my children, dear brothers, sisters and friends. So, forgetting all differences and confusions, I once again appeal to all concerned to make the 10th National Conference of the Party a success. By the grace of God, I will come to the country soon, I will be a companion of time, I will be by your side in times of danger, InshAllah,' said Begum Rowshan Ershad.
