57 arrested with drugs in capital

Police arrested 57 people from various spots of the capital on charges of drug dealing and peddling in separate drives during the last 24 hours.

Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) confirmed the matter to Bangladesh Pratidin on Wednesday (September 7).                 

Police arrested them from 6:00 am Tuesday to Wednesday morning with drugs as part of their regular drive.   

A total of 527 pieces of Yaba, 109 grams of heroin, 268 bottles of phensidyle, 22 injections and 22 kg of hemp were seized from their possessions.

Thirty-five cases were filed with respective police stations in this regard under the narcotic control act, police said.
