Son kills father in Chattogram

A man was killed by his son for refusing to marry him off in Chattogram's Sitakunda Upazila on Tuesday.

The deceased was identified Belal Hossain, 62, who hailed from North Wapda East Surlikka village of Sudharam Thana in Noakhali.

He used to live with his family in Babu Colony of East Hasnabad Ward No. 4 of Bhatiari Union of the Upazila, reports UNB.

Sitakunda Police Station Officer-in-Charge Abul Kalam Azad said victim Belal quarrelled with his son Mohammad Helal. Helal had an affair with a girl and he wanted to marry her. But his father did not agree to get the son married because he was jobless.

At one point, Helal stabbed his father leaving him seriously injured.

Critically injured Belal was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
