US President Donald Trump on Wednesday expressed optimism over the ongoing indirect talks between Washington and Tehran, saying the negotiations were progressing well.
Speaking to reporters before boarding the new Air Force One, gifted by Qatar, for a trip to North Dakota, Trump said there had been "very good meetings" between the two sides.
"As far as things are going, the denuclearization of Iran is moving along well. They've had very good meetings, and we'll see," he said.
Trump also referred to recent tensions between the two countries, saying, "We hit them very hard... but we're getting along very well."
The indirect talks are aimed at easing tensions between the United States and Iran following recent exchanges of fire and are focused on Iran's nuclear programme.
