The Hindustan Times reported that bracing cold and dense fog, lakhs of devotees flocked to the Triveni Sangam in Prayagraj on Tuesday to take a holy dip called the “Amrit Snan” on the occasion of Makar Sankranti festival.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath extended wishes on the occasion of Makar Sankranti. He said: “Today is the first day of the first Amrit Snan of Maha Kumbh. It is incredible to witness the attraction towards the Maha Kumbh in the country and the world. Yesterday, almost 1.75 crore devotees took a dip at the Triveni Sangam.
The administration issued an order to streamline the 'Amrit Snan' of 13 Akharas. Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani and Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhara will be the first ones to take Amrit Snan, followed by others of Shaivite and Vaishnavite faith.
Allotted slots for the Akharas
Shri Panchayati Akhara Mahanirvani and Shri Shambhu Panchayati Atal Akhara will depart from the camp at 5.15 am.
Shri Taponidhi Panchayati, Shri Niranjani Akhara, and Shri Panchayati Akhara Anand will depart from the camp by 6.05 am.
The three Sanyasi Akharas, Shri Panchdashnam Juna Akhara, Shri Panchdashnam Aawahan Akhara and Shri Panchagni Akhara, will leave their camps by 7 am.
Among the three Bairagi Akharas, All India Shri Panch Nirmohi Ani Akhara will be the first to start from the camp at 9.40 am.
All India Shri Panch Digambar Ani Akhara will start from the camp at 10.20 am.
All India Shri Panch Nirvani Ani Akhara will start from the camp at 11.20 am.
The remaining three to take the dip are Udasin Akharas. Udasin Shri Panchayati Naya Udasin Akhara will leave its camp at 12.15 pm.
Shri Panchayati Akhara, Naya Udasin, and Nirvana will leave the camp at 1.20 pm.
Shri Panchayati Nirmal Akhara will be the last to take the Amrit bath. This Akhara will leave the camp at 2.40 pm.
