Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov criticized European leaders for what he described as "childish" behavior during international summits. In an interview with American journalist Tucker Carlson, Lavrov claimed that European officials avoid engaging with him, even going so far as to "run away" when he approaches.
“It’s becoming contagious,” Lavrov said on Friday, as reported by Russian news agency TASS. “When somebody sees an American or a European talking to me, others run away. During the last G20 meeting, it was ridiculous. Grown-up, mature people behaving like kids. Unbelievable.”
Lavrov’s comments highlight the strained diplomatic relations between Russia and Western nations, which have grown increasingly tense amid geopolitical conflicts and sanctions. His remarks come as Moscow continues to face international isolation in global forums.
The interview underscores the broader challenges in diplomacy between Russia and the West, with mistrust and hostility becoming more evident in high-profile gatherings like the G20.
