A Kolkata-bound IndiGo flight carrying 187 passengers and six crew members made an emergency landing at Raipur Airport on Thursday morning after a bomb threat was reported, according to police sources.
The aircraft, en route from Nagpur to Kolkata, was diverted to Raipur after a bomb threat was reported to airport authorities, according to Raipur’s Senior Superintendent of Police, Santosh Singh.
The plane landed at Raipur Airport, the capital of Chhattisgarh, shortly after 9 a.m. and was immediately directed to the isolation bay for essential security checks, an official reported.
The aircraft was undergoing a thorough inspection by technical staff and the bomb squad, the official added.
