The highest-ranking military commanders of Iran and Saudi Arabia weighed plans for closer cooperation between the two countries at a meeting in Tehran on Sunday.
Heading a high-profile military delegation, Chief of the General Staff of the Saudi Arabian Armed Forces Lieutenant General Fayyadh bin Hamed Al-Ruwaili arrived in Iran.
The top Saudi commander held talks with Chief of Staff of the Iranian Armed Forces Major General Mohammad Hossein Baqeri in Tehran, Tasnim News Agency reported.
The two generals discussed a range of issues, including the expansion of defense diplomacy and promotion of cooperation between the two Muslim countries of the Middle East.
