Kamala Harris went after her rival Trump's mental state and fitness for office after the Republican candidate's televised town hall veered into a surreal, impromptu music session, reports BSS/AFP.
Three weeks before the U.S. election, the Vice President sharply shifted focus to Trump's health and mental fitness, commenting that the former president appeared "lost, confused, and frozen on stage."
Monday’s event in Oaks, near Philadelphia, began as a typical pre-election rally, with Trump facing questions from supporters about the economy.
However, after two medical emergencies in the crowd, the event took an unusual turn, stretching into 39 minutes of music and awkward dancing, as Trump veered away from discussing the election and swayed to his favorite tunes on stage.
"Who the hell wants to hear questions, right?" he said, bringing the Q&A section to an abrupt end.
For years, Trump has made a quick, jerky dance his trademark at the close of rallies, almost always set to his exit song—the Village People's 1978 disco anthem "YMCA."
On Monday, however, he stayed on stage for nine songs, alternating his dance moves with standing in place and staring into the crowd.
"Hope he's okay," said Harris on X.
Undeterred, Trump was again dancing to the Village People again Tuesday at a rally in Atlanta, where he turned up 90 minutes late.
During his typical stump speech on illegal immigration, Trump repeated his familiar exaggerations about migrant crime in Colorado and Ohio,
Trump called the two world wars "beautiful" and claimed to have invented the word "caravan." Explaining how he was going to make America great again, he suddenly started talking about his wealthy friends, beachwear, and President Joe Biden without any context.
"I have a lot of rich friends. They go here. They go there. They're boring as hell," he began, with reference to nothing in particular. "Nobody cares. They put on their bathing suit. They don't look a lot better than Biden."
The Republican candidate is now the oldest person ever nominated for a presidential run, following Biden's withdrawal from the race after a disastrous debate that raised concerns about his age.
Trump has not released a comprehensive report on his health state. The current vice president took this opportunity and started criticizing her rival fiercely.
