Iran's UN ambassador has strongly condemned Israel's acts of terrorism against Lebanon, saying the Zionist Israeli regime must be held accountable for the heinous crime, Press TV reports.
Amir Saeid Iravani made the remarks while addressing an emergency meeting of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday on the Illegal Israeli Actions in the Occupied Palestinian Territories.
He condemned the Tel Aviv regime for blowing up communication systems in Beirut through cyber terrorism resulting in deaths and injuries of thousands of people, including the ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran.
The Iranian envoy offered his condolences to the families of the victims and the Lebanese government, and strongly condemned the act of sabotage and terrorism.
Iravani also called on the world body to accept Palestine as a full member and reconsider Israel’s membership for its constant violations of international law and norms.
He called Israel’s aggressions in Gaza and across the West Bank, long-lasting threats to peace and security.
The envoy urged the UN to find effective measures to put an end to the regime’s violations.
