Former Sri Lanka president Gotabaya Rajapaksa leaves Singapore and reaches Thailand, reports NDTV of India.
According to the news of NDTV, Thursday was the last day for Rajapaksa for staying in Singapore. Hence, he went to new destination under compulsion. He’s got the provision to live in Thailand for 3 months.
Earlier, Prayut Chan-O-Cha, prime minister of Thailand ensured the matter of giving him the permission to enter into Thailnd. Thai prime minister says, considering the request of Sri Lanka government and human side of the matter, they confirm their permission for Gotabaya’s entry.
However, Gotabaya was also given the condition of not involving in any kind of political activities while staying in Thailand. He will continue staying there until he gets permanent political asylum in any other country.
In the face of huge mass protest resulted from serious economic crisis, Gotabaya fled to Maldives on July 13 this year. From there he went to Singapore.
