Trading on Bangladesh’s capital markets continued on a positive note Wednesday, with both the Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) and the Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) posting early gains, according to data from the two bourses.
Half an hour into the session, at 10:30 am, the DSE’s benchmark DSEX index had climbed 36 points from the previous day to reach 4,987. The DSE Shariah Index rose 8 points to 1,048, while the DSE-30 advanced 9 points to 1,915. Turnover during this period stood at Tk 738.9 crore.
Market breadth was strong, with 286 companies gaining, 37 declining, and 36 remaining unchanged. The top 10 traded firms at 10:30 am were BD Thai, Khan Brothers, Munnu Fabrics, Lavello Ice Cream, Simtech Industries, Evinci Textile, Khulna Printing, Pragati Insurance, Saiham Cotton and Orion Infusion.
The DSEX began the day with firm momentum, rising 10 points in the first five minutes of trading. By 10:10 am it added another 10 points, and by 10:20 am the index was up 27 points at 4,978 before extending gains further.
At the Chittagong Stock Exchange, the CASPI index rose 28 points to 13,878 by 10:30 am. Turnover reached Tk 2.21 crore, with 22 companies advancing, 4 declining and 3 remaining unchanged.
Both exchanges continued to show upward momentum as morning trading progressed.
