State Minister for Land and Chattogram Hill Tracts Affairs Mir Helal Uddin has said that the digital services and software of the Land Ministry are completely made with local technology and the talent of Bangladeshi engineers. Even the inventor of important software made at a very affordable cost is a CUET student.
He said these things in his speech as the chief guest at the orientation ceremony of the undergraduate course of the 2025-26 academic year of the Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) on Thursday.
The State Minister congratulated the new students and said, “By getting admitted to CUET, they have become a special part of the country's talented students. To make this journey meaningful, hard work, research spirit and continuous efforts for self-improvement must be continued.”
He said, “While traveling to different countries of the world, I have seen CUET alumni working successfully in top technology institutions of various countries, especially the United States, the United Kingdom, Germany, Canada and France. CUET students are shining the country's image by leaving their mark of expertise in world-renowned organizations including Google, Amazon, Tesla, Siemens, and Samsung. The current fresh students will also showcase their qualifications on the world stage in the same way one day.”
Highlighting various initiatives for the digital transformation of the Ministry of Land, the State Minister said that currently most of the land service activities are being conducted on digital platforms. Various services including land development tax payment, registration, e-papers are available from home through the 'Bhumi App'. In addition, the presence and activities of government employees at the field level are being monitored through an app based on geofencing technology called 'Bhumi Drishti'.
The program was presided over by Dr. Md. Saiful Islam, Director of the Student Welfare Department of Chattogram University of Engineering and Technology, and Dr. Mahmud Abdul Matin Bhuiyan, Vice-Chancellor of the university, was present as the guest of honor. The special guests were Dean of the Faculty of Electrical and Computer Engineering Dr. Kazi Delwar Hossain, Dean of the Faculty of Civil and Environmental Engineering Dr. Asiful Haque, Dean of the Faculty of Science and Technology Dr. Mohammad Abu Kausar, Dean of the Faculty of Mechanical and Manufacturing Engineering Dr. Mohammad Mizanur Rahman, Dean of the Faculty of Architecture and Planning Dr. Muhammad Rashidul Hasan and Registrar Dr. Sheikh Mohammad Humayun Kabir.
