During the "National Agriculture Day and Navanna Utsav" 2024 celebrations at Exim Bank Agricultural University Bangladesh (EBAUB), speakers emphasized the need to establish village-level agricultural cooperatives and implement agricultural insurance to support farmers and modernize the sector.
They recommended celebrating National Agriculture Day with nationwide festivities, akin to the vibrant spirit of Pahela Boishakh, to inspire greater enthusiasm among farmers.
EBAUB celebrated the day on Friday with vibrant festivities, including a colorful rally, cultural performances, and a discussion meeting. In the presence of Dr. Md. Shaheb Ali Pramanik, Acting Controller of Examinations, Md. Yusuf Hossain Khan, Coordinator of the Faculty of Agriculture, and Agriculturist Mehdi Hasan Sohail, the speakers emphasized that agriculture and farmers play a crucial role in driving the country's economy.
They highlighted that Bangladesh, known as a land of rice, songs, and birds, is now facing challenges in its agricultural sector. To support farmers and modernize agriculture, it is crucial to establish village-level agricultural cooperatives and implement agricultural insurance.
The teachers of the EBAUB stated that National Agriculture Day inspires fresh enthusiasm among farmers. They suggested that, like Pahela Boishakh, this day should be celebrated nationwide with a festive spirit.
