Jewellers have further decreased the price of gold for the fourth time in a row due to a reduction in the price of pure gold on the local market.
This time the price dropped by Tk1,680 to Tk1,34,509 per bhori (11.664 grams), according to the Bangladesh Jeweller’s Association (BAJUS).
The Standing Committee on Pricing and Price Monitoring of BAJUS made the decision at a meeting on Thursday, read a press release.
The price of 22-carat gold will now be Tk11,532 per gram, 21-carat Tk11,008 per gram, 18-carat Tk9,436 per gram, and traditional gold Tk7,736 a gram.
New tariffs will come into effect from Friday.
However, prices of silver remained unchanged.
The price of 22-carat silver is Tk221 per gram, while Tk210 for 21-carat silver, Tk181 for 18-carat silver, and Tk136 for traditional silver.
